State Status: Governor Hogan issued an Executive Order regarding "Essential Businesses". The Businesses, Organizations, and Facilities that may remain open include Residential and Commercial Services. View Interpretive Guidance Document Here, noting Section 2.B. ii-vi.

County Status: FREDERICK, MD - The Frederick County Division of Planning and Permitting announced on Friday, March 20 and confirmed in accordance with the Governor's Announcement on Monday, March 23, that they will continue to provide inspection services under the following modified plan: View Modified Inspection Services

City Status: From the Department of Public Works - Frederick City has updated their guidance on 3-25-2020- View here. City staff continues to evaluate opportunities to utilize technology across all departments to provide City services to the maximum extent possible. With respect to development review and permitting, the City is developing a plan to restore and continue our services taking advantage of technology while still practicing effective social distancing.


FCAR Guidance:   Real Estate transactions are financial transactions and shall therefore be considered essential under FCAR’s interpretation of the CISA Memorandum dated March 19, 2020. As such, FCAR recommends that its members continue their business in keeping with the Order of the Governor of the State of Maryland by reducing contact with other people unless where necessary for the completion of a financial transaction. Transactions that are currently pending may continue to settlement. Those not currently pending will need to be evaluated on a case by case basis with the best interest of the consumer in mind, from all perspectives, health as well as financial wellbeing.
