For over 15 years the Frederick Rescue Mission has been trying to solve their drain and pavement concerns. Rolled ankles, breathing in dust, flooding conditions, and safety concerns were a way of life for the residents, staff, and volunteers. As FCBIA Executive Officer Danielle Adams toured the property with the intent of a carpet or paint project, gears shifted quickly to this challenge, and how our FCBIA members can help.
County-wide you will find business after business hailing from the building industry lining high school football fields or little league fences with sponsorships. Participate in a 5K or community charity event and our logos and members are at the top tier level of support. Humanitarianism runs deep in the Building Industry’s DNA - especially here in Frederick. Despite our sometimes less-than-generous public perception, we remain the most generous in supporting the community we call home.

The Women in Trades initiative is a joint venture between representatives from Frederick County’s construction industry, CTC, and FCC to educate, encourage and support young women in careers in the construction trades.
A beautiful day for a wonderful cause was Sunday, October 23, at Elk Run Winery in Mount Airy. The Professional Women in Building Council hosted a family-friendly event in the fall vineyard, supporting the Justice & Recovery Advocates. A final tally and check presentation will be determined soon, but overall the event was a HUGE success. Many thanks to our generous sponsors, and a special shout out to Kourtney Roman of Empire Photography for her hard work in organizing the event.
