PARTICIPATION
There are many ways you can get involved in the FCBA: participate in a committee, attend a general membership meeting or event, or become a sponsor.
The Frederick County Builders Association has a number of recurring events. The General Membership Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month, with a few exceptions. Some of these meetings are scheduled to be a dinner meeting, some will be held as a lunch meeting. Please look for details on time, location and featured speakers on the monthly calendar.
FREDERICK COUNTY BUILDERS ASSOCIATION PROGRAMS
We offer various programs to benefit our members and the community. Following are some of our main programs and events. Most of our events are organized and supported by committees of volunteers from our membership.
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
The Awards of Excellence are presented at the annual Awards Banquet that is held in May to recognize members for excellence in design, craftsmanship and sales performance.
GOLF
The FCBA and the Land Use Council organize golf tournaments to offer networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere.
HOME SHOW
The Home Show is an annual consumer show that allows members to promote their business to the general public. It is held in March at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds.
LEGISLATIVE
During the Maryland General Assembly's session our legislative committee meets weekly to review legislative proposals that affect the industry, and works with our elected officials to promote the industry's interests. In February, a luncheon is held for members to meet with the Frederick County Delegation.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
The FCBA promotes the professional image of the industry and raises awareness of the role of housing in the local economy.
SCHOLARSHIP
The FCBA awards scholarships to students who pursue a career in a construction related field.
SILENT AUCTION
In November an annual Silent Auction is held to raise money for the scholarship program by auctioning off items that are donated by members and individuals from the community.
